Technical Data Checklist for Roller Quotation & Reconditioning
An accurate engineering quotation requires geometric drawings, dynamic nip load data, continuous rotational speeds, chemical environment, and operating temperature profiles.
KNOWLEDGE & PRACTICE
Comprehensive Technical Parameter Checklist
| Engineering Parameter Group | Required Technical Data | Engineering Significance in Manufacturing |
|---|---|---|
| Geometric Dimensions | Outer diameter (OD), face length, total shaft length, journal diameters and tolerances (ISO m5, k5, j6) | Defines blank size, grinding capacity, and bearing fit compatibility |
| Covering Specification | Target material (NBR, EPDM, Silicone, Cast PU, Chrome), Shore hardness (ShA/ShD), radial wall thickness | Dictates compounding formulation, vulcanization tooling, and raw material cost |
| Surface Finish & Profile | Roughness Ra/Rz (from mirror Ra < 0.08 µm to matte Ra 3.2 µm), groove pitch, depth, angle, or crown profile | Determines precision CNC grinding, thread grooving cycles, or super-finishing steps |
| Dynamic Operating Conditions | Peripheral speed (m/min), rotational RPM, linear nip force (N/mm), continuous dynamic load (kg) | Calculates dynamic balancing grade (ISO 1940-1 G2.5/G1) and hysteretic heat margins |
| Chemical Contact & Cleaning | Primary process chemicals (inks, glues, oils), washdown solvents, concentrations, and exposure cycles | Selects polymer polarity, plasticizer retention, and corrosion barrier systems |
| Thermal Profile | Continuous ambient and web contact temperature, maximum temperature spikes, core cooling type | Determines elastomer heat rating, core expansion allowances, and primer selection |

Differentiating New Fabrication from Reconditioning Requests
When requesting a quotation, clarity on the procurement route accelerates proposal turnaround:
• Reconditioning enquiry: Provide high-resolution photos of journal bearing seats, keyways, and worn covering surfaces. Include machine make/model, original roller drawings if available, and symptoms of wear.
• New fabrication enquiry: Provide fully dimensioned manufacturing drawings in PDF or 2D/3D CAD (DWG, DXF, STEP). If drawings do not exist, PROEXPORT offers reverse-engineering services from an existing physical sample roller.

Missing Full Data? PROEXPORT Engineering Evaluation Protocol
If technical documentation is unavailable, transmit approximate outer dimensions, photos, and a brief description of machine application. PROEXPORT engineers will identify missing operational parameters and propose a structured evaluation protocol or on-site laser dimensioning.
PROEXPORT / INDUSTRIAL ROLLERS
From technical drawing to line-ready solution.
Submit dimensions, photos, and operating conditions. We will determine the optimal manufacturing or reconditioning scope.
