EOS Expandable Sleeves & Adapters | PROEXPORT
PROEXPORT EOS (Expandable Outer Sleeve) systems are engineered composite sleeves specifically developed for high-speed flexographic and gravure printing machines. Featuring an integrated micro-cellular compressible layer and solvent-resistant elastomer outer face, EOS sleeves ensure precise print register and uniform impression nip across variable web widths.

PNEUMATIC CHANGEOVER
5-Step Pneumatic Sleeve Changeover Procedure (20 Minutes Total)
The EOS Sleeve system replaces costly complete roller removal with rapid on-machine outer elastomer sleeve replacement. Using standard workshop compressed air (6–8 bar), changeover is performed in under 20 minutes without lifting equipment:

01
Step 01 / Bearing Release & Inspection
Identify coating wear or prepare line format change. Unlock the cantilevered bearing support — the heavy mandrel and drive stay installed in the press.
02
Step 02 / Pneumatic Sleeve Removal
Connect compressed air (6–8 bar) to the mandrel journal. The micro-cushion expands the GFK sleeve, allowing it to slide off effortlessly along the axis in seconds.
03
Step 03 / New Lightweight Sleeve Selection
Retrieve a new or reconditioned sleeve from compact vertical storage. Weighing only 25–30 kg, it is handled safely by a single operator without cranes or forklifts.
04
Step 04 / Guided Pneumatic Installation
Slide the new sleeve smoothly over the pressurized air mandrel until firmly seated against the axial register stop. The air cushion protects the inner composite surface.
05
Step 05 / Instant Clamping & Production Start
Shut off compressed air. The sleeve contracts instantly onto the mandrel with zero-backlash torque transmission and perfect runout. Re-lock bearing — ready in 20 min!
LINE PROBLEM SOLVING (PWE)
Precision that Eliminates Line Downtime and Web Defects
At PROEXPORT, we do not simply supply coatings — we solve specific engineering challenges for plant technologists and maintenance leaders.
PRODUCTION CHALLENGE
Line Issue
Dot gain distortion, bouncing, and inconsistent ink laydown on wide-web high-speed flexographic presses.
PROEXPORT SOLUTION
Engineering Solution
Optimized EOS sleeve architecture with micro-cellular damping foam that absorbs mechanical shock and cylinder bounce.
PLANT ROI RESULT
Measurable Effect
Razor-sharp graphic dot reproduction, stable color density across high-speed runs, and extended plate/sleeve life.
SELECTION & QUALITY CONTROL
Pre-Production Specification & Quality Inspection
Every project — new fabrication or reconditioning — is executed according to strictly defined inspection points:
- Dynamic runout and register testing on precision inspection rigs.
- Electrical surface resistivity verification (ATEX compliant anti-static ratings).
- Dimensional accuracy of print repeat circumference according to OEM specs.
- Surface finish roughness inspection (Ra < 0.3 µm).
Technical Acceptance Standards
| Inspection Dimension | Technical Significance |
|---|---|
| Geometry & Tolerances | Diameter calibration, radial/axial runout, and concentricity of bearing journals. |
| Coating Structure | Durometer Shore/HV verification, nominal thickness, and zero-porosity bonding. |
| Dynamic Balancing | Residual unbalance compensation in ISO 1940 Grade G 2.5 or G 6.3. |
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the advantage of EOS sleeves compared to standard sleeves?
EOS sleeves incorporate an engineered micro-cellular cushion layer that dampens press vibrations, suppresses cylinder bounce at high speeds, and provides superior ink transfer consistency.
How should EOS sleeves be cleaned and stored?
Clean with manufacturer-approved mild solvents and soft lint-free cloths. Store vertically in designated sleeve racks away from direct heat and UV radiation.
