PROEXPORT / INDUSTRIAL ROLLERS
Industrial Roller Sleeves | PROEXPORT
PROEXPORT industrial roller sleeves are precision composite and elastomer cylindrical covers mounted pneumatically on air mandrels. They enable rapid format changeovers without removing heavy roller cores from production machines, reducing line downtime by up to 80% in printing, converting, laminating, and packaging operations.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Manufacturing Parameters and Operating Tolerances
We match core construction, elastomer compound or metallic coating, and surface finish directly to the operating conditions on your line.
| Technical Parameter | Specification / PROEXPORT Standard |
|---|---|
| Base Construction | Multi-layer fiberglass (FRP) and carbon fiber composite tube with compressible layer |
| Mounting Method | Compressed air expansion (6 to 8 bar air supply via mandrel air holes) |
| Working Surfaces | Rubber compounds (NBR, EPDM, silicone), polyurethane, or conductive elastomers |
| Dimensional Range | Inner diameter Ø70 mm to Ø350 mm, face length up to 3500 mm |
| Wall Thickness | Standard 1.5 mm to 25 mm (repeat sleeves and bridge sleeves available) |
| Register Precision | Concentricity and radial runout within ±0.02 mm |
LINE PROBLEM SOLVING (PWE)
Precision that Eliminates Line Downtime and Web Defects
At PROEXPORT, we do not simply supply coatings — we solve specific engineering challenges for plant technologists and maintenance leaders.
PRODUCTION CHALLENGE
Line Issue
Extensive machine downtime and heavy crane operations required for frequent roller changes across variable production jobs.
PROEXPORT SOLUTION
Engineering Solution
Lightweight composite sleeves that expand pneumatically and slide on/off air mandrels in less than 2 minutes by a single operator.
PLANT ROI RESULT
Measurable Effect
80% reduction in changeover downtime, improved ergonomics, and substantial savings in storage footprint.
SELECTION & QUALITY CONTROL
Pre-Production Specification & Quality Inspection
Every project — new fabrication or reconditioning — is executed according to strictly defined inspection points:
- Air expansion and slide fit verification on precision calibrated master mandrels.
- Total indicator reading (TIR) runout measurement at operating air pressure.
- Shore A/D hardness uniformity mapping across sleeve surface.
- Chemical resistance testing of elastomer covering against process inks and washes.
Technical Acceptance Standards
| Inspection Dimension | Technical Significance |
|---|---|
| Geometry & Tolerances | Diameter calibration, radial/axial runout, and concentricity of bearing journals. |
| Coating Structure | Durometer Shore/HV verification, nominal thickness, and zero-porosity bonding. |
| Dynamic Balancing | Residual unbalance compensation in ISO 1940 Grade G 2.5 or G 6.3. |
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What air pressure is needed to mount and dismount sleeves?
Standard mounting requires clean compressed air at 6 to 8 bar (approx. 90-115 psi) supplied through the machine mandrel ports.
Can existing worn sleeves be recoated or reground?
Yes. If the composite base remains dimensionally stable and undamaged, we can strip the worn elastomer and reapply a new rubber or PU covering.
